INTENTIONAL INTERIM AND DEVELOPMENTAL MINISTRY
In recent years, I have felt a call toward the goal-oriented work of interim, developmental, and consulting ministries. Such ministry, when done well, helps a congregation turn a mirror on itself and better understand its core, its DNA. A minister called to this work walks with a congregation through the grief and growth that comes with every major change. Times of transition give a congregation the opportunity to highlight particular areas of need and discern strengths and passions. Mission-focused identity building is particularly exciting and is an area about which I am passionate. I am pursuing accreditation as an interim minister and have completed the required trainings, "Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry: The Work of the Leader" and "Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry: The Work of the Congregation."
GROWTH HAPPENS WHEN WE LIVE INTO OUR MISSION
The mission statement is an expression of the call a particular congregation has to be present in and change the world. Part of a minister's job is to help a congregation understand and live into its mission. When a congregation knows where it wants to go and how it wants to move forward, it is able to be more fully itself. A congregation living a clear mission resonates with joy and purpose - And others are drawn to that!
